“By three they come. By three, thy bottle opens. By the liqueur of the thirsty, we call thee home. Hail, daughter of —” ...Oh! Hello, officer. Eh… No public summons allowed after 10 p.m.? My bad, my bad. We’ll take our ritual party and this lovely chalice to the local inn. You see… A fascinating lady plans to join us later. Her Instahell profile says she’s a “mother daughter sinner LOL” and she’s eager to come up to Earth to play. No harm done, right?

And so begins my mixology tribute to Sanctuary’s femme fatale, the antagonist of Diablo IV, LILITH! There’s so much in the game’s worldbuilding to inspire cocktails, from elixirs to regions to classes to bloody carnage, but I felt that distilling the essence of Miss Mephisto Jr. is core. After all, she declares that “sin is our birthright”, so who am I to meddle with a 0.0% ABV tonight. Maybe next time. Maybe for Deckard Cain and his slow-living Horadric lifestyle.

PIKUBYTES // Video Game Cocktails // Diablo IV // Lilith's Lament

I established three (summoning) pillars for Lilith’s cocktail:

  • Roses: In the prologue, the Wanderer (you) is fed “blood petals”, which are both emblematic of Lilith’s presence across Sanctuary and lets you relive her memories. Making roses the essential accent was thus a no-brainer. I iterated on combos of rose water and rose liqueur to create a fragrant, even perfumed, but sweet layer. That was joined in unholy matrimony with Hendrick’s Gin, which is specifically infused with roses.
  • Red, red, red: I resisted the temptation to make a Bloody Mary template, as it seemed too “domestic” for Lilith. Yet the rosy gin wasn’t crimson enough for a maiden from Hell. So I made a fresh batch of raspberry syrup for deeper pink hues and, bonus — its slightly acidic flavor paired well with roses.
  • Feminine: The concept had to be elevated, elegant, and fragrant. A head-turner, yet with a nonchalant minimal style. No desperation. Just a whiff of alluring rose perfume. It’s a classy lady with a powerful soul(stone) and, occasionally, a demonic temper. So don’t drink *too* many at once.

Now bring your acolytes to enslave help out and we shall begin the summoning.

Nevesk Village has that softer, relaxing vibe of darkness in the OST:

A slightly unholy classic, but female-fronted:

And so ends our blessed meeting with Lilith. If you’ve enjoyed this flavor and the grind of Diablo IV, stay awhile and listen (= follow/subscribe) for new boozy stories. There are more seasons to come, muahaha.
